About the Studio

Built by filmmakers picking up a line of work that began in 1895.

The Biograph Company today is a small group of filmmakers, operators and capital structurers working under the original Biograph crest — and under our parent company, Hollywood North Films.

Stephen Wallis

Writer · Director

Stephen has rapidly become one of Canada's most respected writer/directors and a multi-time award winner. From a modest Canadian upbringing he has worked as both director and writer on most of his projects to date.

His film Defining Moments was Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds' last film. His recent feature The Martini Shot was the winningest film in the world in 2024 — taking home 35 Best Picture awards on the festival circuit, alongside 25 Best Director and 10 Best Screenplay wins across his career.

He wrote and is directing A Voice at the End of the World for Biograph and Hollywood North Films, shooting this fall. His film The Splendid Thing — co-written with Matthew Modine — shoots in August 2026, starring Liam Neeson, Matthew Modine, Spike Lee, Eddie Izzard, Vanessa Redgrave and John Cleese.

Andrew Lawson

Private Investor · Real Estate Portfolio Operator

Andrew is a private investor and consultant who actively manages a real estate portfolio in the millions. His experience spans real estate investment, asset management, and the operating discipline that comes from running businesses through their full lifecycles — with cross-sector exposure across infrastructure, capital markets, and private investment.

At Biograph he oversees financial operations and capital allocation discipline. His hands-on portfolio management background gives the studio direct insight into how capital performs at the asset level, and expands the geographic surface area of the company into one of the most important markets for cross-border capital.

Capital Structuring · Family Office Relations

A decade in financing and family-office relationships across North America, the UAE, and Europe. Tyler operates at the intersection of capital, structure, and execution, with senior origination experience spanning private credit, structured product, and cross-border transactions.

He is also an active producer in the entertainment industry, applying the same discipline of capital structuring to film and content financing. Inside Biograph he is responsible for capital structuring and the operating mechanics that connect deals to capital — the rigor of someone who has closed at scale.
